Purple lines indicate new channel extensions, Current proposal is based upon a 4-5 wide channel @ 1500mm (5ft) nominal depth. This allows 2 boats of moderate size to pass each other. Passing bays may be provided in lieu of larger channels in some parts.

Blue lines indicate existing rivers and canals that require widening, bank shoring, dredging or other works.

Interchanges would ideally be located near train stations.
